Medicare’s Nursing Home Five-Star Quality Rating

Nursing Home Compare is a tool developed by the federal government to provide quality ratings to the public for each of the 16,000 Medicare and/or Medicaid-certified nursing homes in the U.S.   Each facility is rated from a low of one star to a high of five stars based upon three critical areas:  health inspection results, quality measures and staffing levels.  An overall rating is also provided.
